Winter Craft Fair 2024
Join us for the Winter Craft Fair at Bedford House, featuring live music from DarkLight our favourite jazz duo, a cozy café with homemade cakes, and a variety of craft stalls. Visit all the stalls both on the first floor and ground floor as well as in the Hall.
In the House you can find
handmade silver jewellery, glass fused jewellery and decorative object, hand painted silk scarves, handmade fabric bowls and pouches of all sorts, win or buy treasures, hand painted cards and pictures, Christmas cakes, pottery, beaded earrings, graphic design, Christmas decorations, printed / painted and embroidered greeting cards incl Christmas cards, enamelled jewellery, prints, plants, handpainted or printed artworks, and more …

Visit our mini-wellbeing fair providing opportunities to find advice and information about the FREE services and support available to help improve your quality of life in a wide range of areas, from finance to health and social care. We are joined by Jane from Carers Voice via Healthwatch Essex, Helen from VitaHealth Essex, Ros from Alzheimers UK, and helpful information from Age UK.

The Winter Craft Fair is an event for the community, and we also use the opportunity to raise funds towards the £70,000 or more that we need every year to cover the cost of offering subsidised courses to the community all year round.
November Art Exhibition
Bedford House's current art exhibition on the theme of ‘Personal Journeys’ presents a thoughtful selection of work mainly from local artists, showcasing a variety of styles, media and perspectives in a welcoming setting. It's a thought-provoking exhibition that describes what Personal Journeys means for each artist and writer. Their works speak for themselves, inviting visitors to think, explore and enjoy at their own pace.
The exhibition is open to the public between 4 November and 20 December. It is open when Bedford House is open which is often 7 days a week 9:30 to 20:00. We advise that visitors phone ahead when they know when they would like to come to check access on the day and the best and most quiet times to view.
